2 Session Experience
2 Sessions · 2 hours each · $85
Get your hands into something new. Learn how to shape, persuade, and coerce this magical mud into beautiful creations. Guided instruction means you're never lost or overwhelmed, but there's plenty of room for your own creativity.
Create
Build a decorative dish with your own flair. Learn the basics of hand building, texture, and personal touches.
Kiln Mojo
Your creation goes through its first firing. This is where the magic starts.
Glaze
Your fired piece comes back transformed. Pick your palette, add color with glazes, and make it completely yours.
Take Home
After the final firing, pick up your finished piece. You made that!
Your completed handiwork is ready for pickup soon after the final firing.

Loved the intro? Keep going! Continue on the same day and time for four more weeks. These sessions give you the time to start understanding just what's involved in making hand-built ceramics. Hopefully this will get you hooked for life!

Six sessions of getting your hands dirty, building skills, and walking away with pieces you actually made. Book upfront and save $15.
Sessions 1 & 2
Everyone works from the same design as a starting point — then you put your own spin on it. Shape it, add texture, make it yours. Session 2 is all about glazing and color.
Kiln mojo happens between sessions.
Sessions 3 – 6
Three more projects, your choice. Each week brings new techniques and new challenges. You pick what to make and we help you get there.

Common Questions
Do I need any experience?
Not at all! Mud Mojo workshops are designed for complete beginners. You'll get guided instruction every step of the way, so you're never lost or overwhelmed.
What should I wear?
Wear something casual — clay should wash out of your clothes just fine. Feel free to bring your own apron if you have one, but it's not required.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just yourself and your curiosity! All clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firing are included in the workshop price.
How many people are in each workshop?
Classes are small on purpose: 4-6 adults. That means plenty of personal attention and a relaxed atmosphere.
When do I get my finished piece?
You'll get your project back at the next session — either bisque-fired and ready to glaze, or finished and ready to take home. Final glazed pieces are typically ready within a week, and you'll get a notification when it's ready for pickup.
Can I sign up for the add-on sessions later?
Absolutely! You can complete the 2-session intro first and then add on the 4 additional sessions ($130). Or, save a bit and book the full 6-session experience upfront for $215.
What if I want to keep going after 6 sessions?
We love the enthusiasm! Ongoing classes aren't available just yet, but if pottery has gotten under your skin, check out the resources on the about page — there are some great ways to keep going.
Where is the studio?
The studio is in a home setting in Arroyo Grande, just east of the village. It's a cozy, welcoming space — and the exact address is sent to you once you've booked your spot.
