About Mud Mojo

A neighborhood pottery workshop where creativity feels like play.

Johanna Madjedi working with clay in her pottery studio

Hi, I'm Johanna

After retirement, I explored hand building with low-fire clay at a local community center and was hooked. Next came a pottery bench in the corner of the garage, then the wheel, then mid-fire clay, hmmm, and a kiln... And well, now it's time to share.

I know what it's like to be a total beginner. To wonder if you'll be any good at this, or if you'll even enjoy it. (Spoiler: you will.) That's exactly why I teach the way I do. There's guidance when you want it and freedom when you don't. No pressure, no jargon, just clay and creativity.

What Mud Mojo Is About

Mud Mojo is about creating a space to try something new you've maybe always wondered about but never got around to figuring out how.

It's about giving people who have a creative, carefree child inside but don't know where to start the chance to open the door to play.

It's about providing a kind place of encouragement with opportunities to meet new friends.

Oh, and it's about ceramics.

20% of all workshop proceeds goes toward supporting Boys and Girl Scouts so they can earn their Pottery Merit Badge at no cost to them. Sharing the joy of pottery with the next generation is a big part of why Mud Mojo exists.
